Flask Cannon
Unlocking the secrets of the elements has driven you mad, and attracted some negative attention from the authorities. Master the art of alchemy and blast your flasks at your enemies to attain victory.
This is a game about identification and alchemy. You begin with some elements, which you can brew into a number of potions. The effects applied when drinking or throwing the resulting potions are unknown to you at first. Your ability to strategically experiment is key, in order to balance your resources, and keep the enemies at bay.
Instructions- Please Read!
I didn't add as much in-game help as I would have liked. Use following guide if you're stuck or confused.
Controls:
- w, s - Move up or down
- . (period) - Wait
- z, x, c, v - Add ingredients to caldron
- d - Drink potion from caldron
- space - Throw potion forward at an enemy
- r - Reset the game
Effects
There are 6 status effects in total that can occur by drinking or throwing a potion. Each can be applied to either a enemy or yourself. All effects wear off over time, and have no effect after reaching zero.
- Haste: Allows the player or enemy to act and move twice as fast as normal
- Poison: 1 damage per turn
- Strength: +2 to all damage dealt
- Bind: Disables all attacks by the player or enemy
- Vulnerability: +2 damage to all incoming attacks
- Shield: -3 damage to all incoming attacks
Finally, any potions with the sword icon indicate just raw damage with no other effect.
Tips
Thrown potions always deal 1 point of damage in addition to the effect.
Start by mixing just one element at a time. Once you gain more to work with, try to branch out by mixing two elements.
The potency generally increases with the number and quality of the ingredients used. Elements towards the left are weaker than those on the right.
Enemies walk forward, and right before reaching your column, they will attack you for 1 damage per turn, even if they aren't lined up with you. Enemies will begin with just a small amount of health, but as time goes on, their health increases. The number of elements they drop increases as well as time goes on.
The number in the top right shows you how far you were able to get. There is no win state, just see how long you can last!
